I didn’t know what to expect when hiring an organizer to come into my home. I don’t like people who I don’t know to come into my home, so it wasn’t easy for me to make the appointment. Within seconds of meeting Mika, she instantly put me at ease. She was a wealth of knowledge and had a keen eye. I accomplished what I wanted and now feel more comfortable having guests over. I highly recommend her.
JEN BERGIN:
I hired Mika to go through my closet with me. I could never find anything, I never had anything to wear when an occasion called for it, and I wasn’t sure what flattered my figure or not. I don’t know what I thought of when I thought of organizer, but she showed up and was so chic in her little sheath dress! Before we started, we sat down over a cups of coffees and instantly connected. I was stoked to hear that she had spent time in Paris, studying closets and style, and we came up with the look that I felt comfortable in. We determined that I had a California casual style. I was happy with that. I had way too much stuff I didn’t wear, and some things that didn’t flatter me. Other things that surprisingly did flatter me! We came up with basics and accessories, and new outfits that I didn’t even know that I had. We donated two bags of stuff. I didn’t even buy anything new, but I somehow have something for every occasion that I can think of now. Now I feel chic 🙂
ELDRED MINKENS:
I was looking for an organizer to help me with my home office. I didn’t have any clutter, but I didn’t have a system in place for my home office, and things ended up all over my desk, looking like clutter. Mika arrived and we discussed what I used most and when, and she not only listened, but wrote it down! By the time we bought the organizing equipment, she remembered details that I had forgot, thanks to her notebook. She asked me if I found my home office inspirational and I had to admit I didn’t. We bought the storage things, some things for my walls, and a little pot of fresh flowers and a candle to put on my desk. Now my home office is not only organized, but inspirational and I’m more productive. As she said, “it’s amazing the difference that your environment can make on your productivity”. Thank you Mika! CHRISTINA JOHNSON:
I contacted The Hapa Way because I wanted to organize my stuff, but didn’t really know how to do it thoroughly. Mika, the owner, showed up on time and professional friendly. I gave her a tour of my house, and to my surprise she said to start with the bathroom. I have A LOT of lotions, creams, face washes, and tons of makeup. We took everything out of the bathroom and laid it out on my dining room table, sorting it by category. When I looked at how many foundations I had, it was a bit ridiculous grouped together. Then, she showed me how and we checked all the batch numbers for all of the products, and to my surprise, over half was expired. She explained that to put expired lotions on my skin was harmful, which explained why I had a slight rash that kept coming back that I’d hide with foundation. After we ‘decluttered’, we went shopping for organizing products and even some bathroom accessories. Then, she helped me organize what was left and my bathroom is so clean and ORGANIZED! It’s been about a month now, and it feels good to wake up and get ready there every morning. I can easily find what I need, leave with more of a pep in my step, and the skin rash is gone. Before leaving, we wrote down a list together of all the expired items and the items that didn’t flatter me that I was going to throw out. She asked me what I paid for each item. Remembering and guessing was pretty fun and quick. She added up the total, and it came out to $1,052 of products that I had either wasted or not liked at all. Anything Sephora, Ulta, Macys, or Nordstroms, I buy because of sales, and that was a hard lesson to swallow. I now realize how quickly it all adds up and that I have way more than I need. She instructed me to use one by one until each thing is empty and then go onto the next, not multiples at a time. Soon, my bathroom will be even more amazing. I can’t believe I didn’t see this before.
LISA PATTERSON, PERSONAL FRIEND:
Just to disclose, Mika is my friend and I’ve known her for years. I knew she has a ridiculous amount of knowledge about feng shui, decluttering and organizing, so I was happy to hear that she started a business around it. I think that she can help a lot of people better their living environments. I was her first client. We went through my closet and reorganized, and I was amazed that my closet looked so different afterwards.
