Travel Itinerary Planning and Advising

Travel Itinerary Planning:

Travel itinerary planning is done remotely and this service is provided internationally. I specialize in Europe, Asia, Northern Africa, Oceania, and the United States.

If you have a destination or a routing in mind, I will create your itinerary for you based on your specialized interests or partner with you do create the best trip possible. If you don’t have a specific destination in mind, or cannot decide and need recommendations, we can start from there prior to building your itinerary.

  1. The first step starts with a Skype or FaceTime call that lasts approximately 30-45 minutes. During this call, I will assess:
  • The Destination. Have you decided on a specific destination down to the country, or city? Countries are very large and varied, and if you have chosen a country, I can recommend various cities throughout the country tailored to you and your time frame.
  • Your Interests. Interests vary so widely, I would like to talk with you to get an idea of who you are and what you like to do. Would you rather lay on the beach, get involved with the culture, try the local cuisines and go to cooking classes, go shopping, maybe a mix of it all? Most vacations are relatively short, and it will be important to assess your interests to ensure that the trip’s activities are scheduled proportionately to your interests.
  • Your Dreams. What have you always dreamed of? I will see how we incorporate any of your dreams and aspirations into this trip.
  • Your Budget. Did you want to fly first class and stay in the best hotels while maximizing on the rates? Or did you want to backpack and stay at budget hostels? I’ve done both, and no matter what mode you travel in, both bring beautiful experiences. We could also plan a mix of the two- luxury and budget.
  • Your Companions. Are you traveling solo, with a significant other, a friend, or with family? If you will be traveling with companions, I will be asking about their interests, dreams, and budget as well.
  • Your Time Frame. Will you be traveling for a week or a year? If a week, I recommend that you have a relatively detailed itinerary.
  • Any Questions or Specific Ideas That You Have. Any concerns will be addressed and questions will be answered. We will go over any specific ideas you have for the trip, so I can try my absolute best to include them.
  • Your Routing and Obligations. Have you already bought your plane ticket? Do you have any specific places to be at a specific time in a specific city? If so, I will tailor your itinerary to make sure that you have enough time to arrive there, while still maximizing the rest of your trip.
  • Award Miles and Points. I am a master at using award miles and points. During my four years of travel to five continents, I paid out of pocket for only a handful of flights. I did strategize and save up prior to embarking on the trip, but while I was on the trip, I used them carefully. This all depends on how you decide to travel (luxury, budget, or a mix of both), but I will maximize your miles for you if you desire to use your miles.
  • The Amount of Time Prior To Your Vacation. Together, we can come up with an agreed time frame for me to research the best rates, compile, and complete your itinerary. We will then set up another Skype or FaceTime call for the day the itinerary will be completed.

2. I will email you your itinerary on the day that it is due to you and also have another Skype call with you that lasts approximately 30-45 minutes to answer any questions that you may have, and to explain specifics of certain activities or cities. If any changes are to be made, I will make note of it and revise your itinerary. I want to make sure that you have an amazing vacation!

3.  I will be available for follow up emails and phone calls. I will also call you three days before you are set to depart from your trip, so that I can answer any questions that may have come up. This call always seems to come in useful- common last minute questions have ranged from:

  •  “What time should I  leave for the airport?
  • “Should I print my RyanAir boarding pass here?
  • “What was that tourist scam in this specific neighborhood that you told me to be careful with again?”
  • “Is there a United Lounge at CDG airport?”

4. While you are on the trip, you are welcome to call me or email me anytime. I am here to provide assistance if you need it.

5. It’s not necessary by any means, but after your trip, I’d love to hear how it went!

Cost: $150-$275 (custom quote depending on factors such as number of companions, length of time, etc.)
